24 of November II

My newest wedding vid, Jordan + Becky.

24 of November

There's been a crap-ton going on in the last year.

I hardly ever update this anymore. But I may pick that up again soon.

Lots of new exciting changes and opportunities coming.

I've been doing almost exclusively video work for the last couple of years.

Here's a bunch of videos I've put together in the meantime...

Over the past year, I've started DJing.

I'm still figuring parts of it out...but it's been pretty great.

Last night I did a 3 hour set live, and I recorded the whole mix so that others can enjoy it, without having to be in my house on a friday night.

So enjoy.

It's a little rough around the edges at times....but it's live...so it's not supposed to be perfect.

I'm thinking I'll record my sets every time I do them, and hopefully they're interesting enough that people will wanna hear the new one.

So here it is:

iwilldesTROYYOU volume one

(my DJ stage-name is iwilldesTROYYOU)

And if you like the way this sounds at all...you'll wanna come out to our next dance party...

They're pretty freakin' epic.

Been a great year.

Enjoy the songs.

I'll post another volume when the time is right.

(The Album Leaf - Leaving Florida)

Been a crazy week of recording a new Hudson Branch EP.

But I managed to get some photo work done amongst the chaos.

There's some great band stuff coming up in the near future.

Also, if you're not watching Breaking Bad...you're really missing out.

17 of May

Volume Five is finally ready.

You can download it here -> bit.ly/volumefive

The last time I released a new Songs That Stop Me list was in the weeks right before my wedding.

It's been a pretty fantastic and eventful year.

A ton of band happenings have been in development.

We released "World Kid" -> Download it here: http://goo.gl/0aGUA

We recorded a new song for an upcoming Radiolab episode:

We even got a chance to share the stage with two of my favorite bands S. Carey and Sleeping At Last. Both also happen to be "Songs That Stop Me" veterans.

I've also been frequently tweeting images and such from the Hudson Branch's twitter account: twitter.com/thehudsonbranch

So you can check up on there for all the latest Hudson Branch related happenings.

Enjoy all the music.

Looking forward to the next chapter.

Who is Hudson Branch?

We are a band that has always been apt to do things on our own and with the help of those who support us. Never signed to a record label or recording contract of any sort, in the past 3 years we have made 3 EPs (The Hudson Branch, Music For Winter: Volume 1 & 2) and an LP(Tightrope Walker). We have toured the country extensively from Chicago to California and everything in between with our friends Dogs On Tour, and have collaborated with radio producers to create music for radio stories and multimedia projects.

All this we have done through the generosity and support of those who have enjoyed the art we make and have joined us in telling stories and making music.

Hudson Branch now has the opportunity to do something we never have before: venture out of our home studios and basements to record at Soma Studios in Chicago. Soma is run by veteran producer and musician John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea and The Cake) who most recently has produced the new Broken Social Scene record. This opportunity comes as both an incredible surprise and a daunting task, so once again we ask for your help.

Please donate at any level so that we can give you all the best music we know how. All donations help and no contribution is too small... or too big.

29 of March

(iTunes: The Album Leaf- Rising Sun)

I've never been too good at remembering them or memorizing them.

I'm pretty good with a melody...I can remember those pretty well.

Maybe that's why I like music like Sigur Ros and The Album Leaf so much...because I don't need to remember any of the words. I just need to remember the tune.

Recently I've been in a little "mistaken lyrics" interpretation battle with Robert while he is away at Capernwray for the year.

He started it off by sending me this little gem:

So then I got excited about it...and came up with this:

And ever since...I've been expanding it to whatever lyrical mishaps I can come up with.

Here's a few others that I've come up with:

Let me know if you can come up with a good one...I'd love to see it.

21 of March

(iTunes: SIgur Ros - Untitled 2)

I know that Winter is probably something you're trying desperately to get over right now...

I understand.

I've had few chances to drive in a t-shirt with my windows down in the past month...and I cherished each of them.

However, I received a random email from a fan from Sweden who loved our Dogs On Tour CD.

So he wanted to use our song for a winter-themed time lapse video.

Hopefully we can release some Summer-y tunes in the next couple months to give us hope for warmer weather.
So I've got a cool little announcement.

You may be wondering why I haven't really had many pictures posted for the past couple of weeks.

There's a reason for that.

This past weekend I was officially offered a Full Time job at Willow Creek McHenry as their Technical Director.

I'm super excited about this.

This will definitely be taking up a lot of my time, but I still plan on being active with my camera.

I still have some great pictures I plan on sharing with everyone....those will be posted soon.
